If you’ve wall-mounted a Sonos Arc below your TV, you’ve probably noticed the soundbar’s power cord and HDMI cable have nowhere to go except straight down the wall. The fix isn’t a wire cover or raceway — it’s routing both cables inside the wall using a recessed power kit and an extendable wall mount bracket, so the soundbar sits flush with zero visible wiring.
Done correctly, this approach is fully code-compliant: the low-voltage HDMI cable and the 120V power cord are separated and terminated in their own dedicated in-wall modules rather than sharing an opening, which keeps the installation safe and inspection-ready.
Parts You Need to Hide Sonos Arc Cables
Two components make this possible:
- Sanus WSIWPSB1 TV + Soundbar Power Kit — a set of recessed in-wall power and cable pass-through modules
- Sanus WSSAWM1 Sonos Arc Extendable Wall Mount — a bracket that lets the soundbar sit at any distance from the TV
Together, these parts let the Sonos Arc extend out from the wall on its own bracket, so it can be positioned close to or far from the TV without ever blocking the soundbar’s upward-firing Dolby Atmos channels.
Preparing for the Sonos Arc Wall Mount Installation
Start by measuring and marking the soundbar’s mounting location. For the cleanest look, we recommend positioning the Sonos Arc roughly 4 to 6 inches below the bottom edge of the TV.
Step 1: Installing the Sanus WSIWPSB1 Recessed Power Kit
This kit uses three separate in-wall modules:
- Upper Module — a recessed power outlet behind the wall-mounted TV
- Sound Bar Module — a recessed power outlet behind where the Sonos Arc will be mounted
- Lower Module — a power inlet behind your component stand or credenza, where your cable box, streamer, or game console will sit
Important: all three cutouts must fall within the same wall stud bay so the cables can be fished between them.
Next, fish an HDMI cable for eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) between the Upper Module and the Sound Bar Module — this carries the audio feed and CEC signal from the TV to the Sonos Arc. Then fish as many additional HDMI cables as you need from the Upper Module down to the Lower Module, to connect the TV to your cable box, media streamer, gaming console, and other components.
Once every cable is fished through the wall, install the Upper Module, Sound Bar Module, and Lower Module into their respective cutouts.
Step 2: Installing the Sanus WSSAWM1 Sonos Arc Wall Mount Bracket
Center the Sanus WSSAWM1 extendable wall mount over the Sound Bar Module so the bracket’s built-in cable pass-through lines up with the recessed outlet behind it — this is exactly why the WSIWPSB1 kit is required, since the bracket needs a low-profile recessed outlet directly behind the soundbar to route the power cord through.
Mount the Sonos Arc onto the WSSAWM1 bracket and extend it outward. Connect the HDMI cable to the soundbar’s HDMI ARC port and push any excess cable back into the wall cavity.
Plug the Sonos Arc’s power cord into the recessed outlet behind the soundbar, then coil up any slack and secure it with a cable tie so it stays hidden behind the unit.
Finally, connect the remaining HDMI cables behind the TV to your AV components, then plug the TV’s power cord into the Upper Module outlet.
The Finished Result: A Fully Concealed Sonos Arc Installation
With both modules wired and the bracket mounted, every cable between the TV and the Sonos Arc soundbar disappears into the wall — no visible wires, and no need for a wire raceway to cover anything up.
This method works just as well for other soundbars and TV/component combinations — the key is planning your wire routing before the drywall goes up, and using in-wall rated modules that keep power and low-voltage cabling properly separated and code-compliant.
